Shenaragh Nemani is New Zealand's first disabled dancer to compete at the World Latin Dance Cup, being held in Miami this month.
In just a few days time, Shenaragh and dance partner Ken Hudson will fly to Miami in Florida, via Houston, to compete in the Limitless Division against other dancers with limited abilities, from more than 10 different countries, all making a claim for the title of world champions.
Other divisions at the world championships will have more than 30 countries represented.
Artistic director Marie-Louise Hudson said it had been a huge dream of Shenaragh's since she first experienced dancing in her wheelchair more than 15 years ago.
"The opportunity to fulfil her dream is set to become a reality now and, along with her caregivers and her dance partner, the gruelling 21-hour trip will be well worth the effort to experience the greatest highlight of her dance career to date."
