Mrs Parnell said the circles were an opportunity for people to talk and meet others, andnot feel they are being talked at.
"We have to make sure it's welcoming for everyone," Mrs Parnell said.
The circles could eventually be used to talk through and solve community problems. So far there have been four circles held in Whanganui's Gonville suburb. The next will be in Tawa St, Mrs Parnell said.
