Tawhero School has been receiving accolades lately - teacher Alison Collier has been awarded her ACET (Advanced Classroom Expert Teacher) qualification.
"This is a prestigious award and Ali is extremely well deserving and this is a credit to her work, her effective classroom practice and her dedication to the children of Tawhero School," principal Chris Dibben said.
The school also won the award for the best school breakfast club from KickStart Breakfast this month.
KickStart Breakfast is sponsored by Fonterra, Sanitarium and the New Zealand Government and there are breakfast clubs in more than 800 schools in New Zealand.
Kickstart organiser Kate Mahoney said the team at KickStart Breakfast think Tawhero School is "pretty special".
