She's back - and she wants your vote.
Wanganui singer Charlotte Melser has been offered a second crack at Homai Te Pakipaki after being recalled as a judges' wildcard for the semifinals.
Her original performance during the heats of the talent show screened a few months ago when she wassecond in public voting for that week's group, which meant she just missed out on progressing.
"That threw me out of the competition and I thought that was it," she said.
But having been given a second chance Melser is going all out for votes in an effort to make the final.
"They said I was one of their favourites from the season," she said. "Now I'm rallying for votes."
She's organised a screening party to be held at Mint Cafe this Friday to encourage people to vote for her and watch her performance live from Auckland.
People can text in votes during the show. The two most popular of the four wildcards go through to the final.
And if she goes on to win the overall contest Melser said she planned to repay any support by donating some of the $20,000 prize to help with Wanganui's flood recovery.
"I'd love to do a professional recording and potentially release an album," she said.
"I'd also really like to donate a good decent chunk of that to the mayoral relief fund to give back to the Wanganui community who have been so supportive of me."
Melser has been singing since she was 10 and has recently been performing at events and venues around the city.
"I love everything about music, the freedom of it, the way that it brings people together," she said. "For me singing has been such a blessing because it's given me an outlet to express myself. I had quite a hard upbringing and I found singing was an instant release of energy and emotion."
-Charlotte's Homai Te Pakipaki screening party will be held at Mint Cafe & Bar, Friday October 2 from 8pm. People can also watch on Maori TV at 8:30pm to see the performance and to find out how to vote by text on the night.
