Waste collectors came upon an unusual sight when they were emptying bins in Aramoho on Thursday - a mother pig and her 15 piglets were busy rooting through the contents of a bin in Roberts Ave.
"It was the cutest thing - although I'm sure the property owner won't think
so when they get home and see the mess," said Bruce Whyte of Budget Waste.
"I guess she is a wild pig and we didn't want to get out of the truck near her because she is likely to be pretty aggro in protecting her piglets.They were having a ball going through the rubbish and some of the piglets were inside the bin."
Mr Whyte said he has seen mother pigs with piglets on his rounds before but never one with so many babies.
