Graeme Kiff could not reveal all the components of the sculpture he was creating for Frae-Ona Reserve in Marton when the Chronicle visited his workshop last week.
Now that "Marty the Duck" has had a public unveiling at a ceremony on Sunday, Mr Kiff is able to share the stages of the project and said he wishes to share credit with others who donated time and materials to make it happen.
The sculpture was commissioned by Rona Rippon of Marton who wished to leave a legacy at the reserve she and late husband Frank Smith donated to the community in 1962.
"When Rona came to me with the idea, I knew it would exceed the budget and I would need to call on other people's help and expertise," Mr Kiff said.
Mr Kiff usually makes gates and fences at his Simply Wrought Iron studio, so the duck presented a new challenge, but he was able to call on friends to help out.
