Some "new" faces have made submissions to the Wanganui District Council's 10-Year Plan and among issues they raised on the first of two days of hearings were concerns about the state of footpaths, the waste treatment plant and the art gallery.
Jillian Callaghan was affected by the state of footpaths, saying she had suffered two falls.
She said surveys were done and the state of the footpaths was usually cited as a problem "but nothing changes".
Ms Callaghan said councillors should get out and walk streets to see the problem for themselves.
Rob Butcher suggested the wastewater treatment plant be reinstated and used to treat domestic waste only.
