The humble feijoa seems to be sparking almost as much interest as Prince Harry's visit ...
Wanganui recently held its first ever feijoa festival and Joan Robinson's 282 gram whopper - featured in Saturday's Chronicle - ramped up the feijoa fever.
Now reader Joan Chapman has weighed in with how much better off we are than the Aussies when it comes to the fruit.
Our stories caught the attention of Mrs Chapman's daughter Robyn, who lives in Lismore, New South Wales.
Robyn reported that her local supermarket was selling them for AU$1.50 each. A Wanganui supermarket was charging $4.50/kg - closer to 50 cents each - but, of course, you can usually scoop them off the ground for free.
