The Southern Trust New Zealand Masters Games is calling last drinks on entries for most of the more than 55 sports being contested from January 30.
Games chief executive Judy Doyle warned people to enter now to avoid possible disappointment.
"Some sports have already closed entries simply because they have more than enough to cope with," Doyle said yesterday.
"The sports still open for entries are filling up fast, so I would suggest to people thinking they will leave it to the last minute - don't. They will risk real disappointment and the best and most efficient way to enter is online."
The Games officially open on Friday next week with a ceremony at the Games Village at Springvale Park at 7pm.
