For well over a century photographers of all levels have been opening the shutter on Wanganui.
The Wanganui Camera Club is celebrating 120 years this month and the occasion was marked last week at the club's fortnightly meeting.
The WCC first met on July 26 in 1894 at the New Zealand Insurance Company building.
It has continued except for breaks during the two world wars and has been in its current form since 1949, when it had 12 members.
The club's heyday came in 1965 when with membership booming at well over 100 it built its own clubrooms at Cooks Gardens.
