They came, they saw, they cleaned up.
More than 200 people of all ages, inspired by a sunny, calm day, turned up to help clean up Castlecliff Beach.
Organiser Joy Clark said she was thrilled by the turn-out - around the same as last month's beach clean-up. But what pleased her even more was the amount of rubbish collected.
"People are coming back saying there isn't much rubbish on the beach, which is really great news," Ms Clark said.
Yesterday's clean-up focused specifically on small bits of rubbish, which could be particularly dangerous for birds.
