Twenty Wanganui students are the stars of their anti-bullying DVD that premiered last week in the city.
Students aged 10-15 years from Castlecliff School, Keith St, Wanganui Intermediate, Rutherford Junior High, YWCA and Yes 2 Youth in Te Punanga Haumaru Student Focus Group launched their Be a Star anti-bullying campaign with invited guests from the community.
Te Punanga Haumaru Whanganui (TPHW) is funded by the national body in the Ministry of Social Development.
TPHW project co-ordinator Nicki Rees said the students hosted the evening and greeted and mingled with the 160 guests, including deputy Mayor Hamish McDouall, Whanganui MP Chester Borrows, Wanganui principals and representatives of community organisations.
After the meet-and-greet, students took their guests to one of the theatres where Ms Rees introduced Te Punanga and explained how she worked alongside the students.
