The school's Board of Trustees (BoT) started the hub process in October last year and committed its own funds to the project.
A toilet block attached to the Year 2 to Year 4 classrooms for students aged six to eight was refurbished, and a new toilet block was built.
Mrs Watson said it was the BoT's careful spending of its operational grant that had left a surplus, which it used for the new hub.
"Having the support of the school's board of trustees is huge."
An operational grant pays for schools' power, teacher-aides, support staff, the administration office, grounds and curriculum resources.
On Wednesdays an after-school homework session was held in the hub.
Mrs Watson said the school had applied for an $8000 Powerco grant and bought 41 Chromebooks, and 12 tablets for the junior school.
Twenty-nine children bring their own devices.
She said she was amazed at the speed the students had caught on to using IT, and now more children were coming to school with their own Chromebooks.
Another development is that children who were sick and away from school could continue with their schoolwork in "real time".
Mrs Watson said the students loved being able to share their learning on their devices with the teachers.
"Homework online" was another useful tool the students had embraced.
Mrs Watson added that student engagement was huge, especially with boys, and it was great to hear the parents' positive feedback about their children's engagement with their schoolwork.
However, there was still the teacher at the front of the room, and the school was careful to balance the IT time with students' maths work, which was still written in books.
Cyber-safety was important at Mosston School, and teachers could monitor where the students went on the web.
"Part of Google education is a teacher dashboard where they can see what the student is working on.
"Everything they work on is in the Cloud (online data storage system) and the children can see their global footprint."
Mrs Watson and teacher Fiona Robertson said student engagement had rocketed with the introduction of IT use, but the students still had to have balance and play outside in their breaks.
