April 1 was an auspicious day for the legal fraternity in Wanganui when one of the oldest law firms took on its first female partner.
Sarah Little, who joined the 103-year-old law firm Horsley Christie eight years ago, has joined Colin Milham, Peter Brown and John Unsworth as a partner.
Raised and educated in Wanganui, Ms Little graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts, majoring in criminology and education at Victoria University of Wellington and returned to her home city in 2006 to work for Horsley Christie.
As a member of the litigation team, she specialises in family law, but is also working in the areas of employment and civil litigation.
Ms Little is an accredited member of the New Zealand Law Society panel of mediators and is an approved family dispute resolution provider. She is also on the panel of lawyers appointed by the Family Court to represent children.
