Ball proves a very important date

Walking down a red carpet fit for the stars and entering a magical wonderland was all part of the winter ball experience for Wairarapa College students on Friday night.

The Alice in Wonderland-themed annual winter ball was attended by over 200 students and staff in the college hall.

A parade of vintage cars, trucks, dune buggies and mobility scooters transported the guests in style where they then walked the red carpet into the hall.

Assistant principal Jo-anne Bisset said the student ball committee had transformed the hall into a world of crazy mirrors and darkened rooms with white rabbits, card games and sparkling lights.

There was also a multi-tiered chocolate fountain and dessert included dozens of cupcakes with Eat Me written on them.

"The evening was a tremendous success. The behaviour was impeccable and everyone had a wonderful time," said Ms Bisset.
