The young thespians and singers don't need to have theatre experience, Ms Parker van Eck said.
"This is for the youth of Whangarei to have a chance to perform, so they can just come along to auditions and try out.
"Following on from the success of Rising Starz productions such as Pirates of the Curry Bean and Time Lords, by Craig Hawes, we feel ready for the challenge of taking on the classic Disney's Beauty and the Beast Junior.
"I am excited to give so many of our members a chance to shine with such a large cast and am really looking forward to working with previous cast members as well as welcoming new ones. I can't wait to meet lots of stars at the auditions so come along and show off for us."
Rising Starz would like them to sing their favourite Disney song for the audition and then read from the script, Ms Parker can Eck said.
"But is not intended to be a stressful experience, rather a chance to shine."
The open audition will be held at 1pm on Sunday, June 11, at the Riverbank Theatre.
Rehearsals will take place at the Riverbank Theatre on Sundays from 1-4pm, with extra rehearsals as needed closer to performance time.
"As for set and costumes, we will be looking for volunteers who might be interested in helping out with these," Ms Parker can Eck said.
Rising Starz is staging the production with the support of Whangarei Theatre Company.
The company's last production was Pirates of the Curry Bean in August last year.
Potential cast members or volunteers interested in being involved in the classic Beauty and the Beast can find out more on Rising Starz' Facebook page.
