Sheep dog trialling is in the blood for both the dog and its owner.
This was very evident at the Southern Hawke's Bay-Wairarapa Dog Trials held on the Weber Rd over the weekend of February 11-12.
The field was large (385 runs over the weekend) with more than 60 dogs competing in each of the Long Head and Short Head competitions on the Saturday alone and the Huntaway Zigzag and Straight events similarly patronised.
Oldest attending the trials was Frank Kay who turns 90 in June.
He was helping judge Rob O'Sullivan with the scoring of the Long Head competition.
