The local DVD subscription delivery service Fatso is closing down.
The company announced the news today in a tweet which read, "It's time to say goodbye...".
In a statement embedded in the tweet they announced that would be "joining" Sky's streaming service Neon, but did not go into details other than to say they will be "channeling their energies there". Fatso is owned by Sky TV.
On an FAQ on the Fatso website the company says "the time has come to move as much of our library into the digital world".
The company will send out its last DVD - or Blu-ray - out on Thursday, November 23, and is saying that customers have the option of keeping any outstanding games or movies that they may have, although outstanding account balances must be paid.
The remainder of Fatso's 32,000 strong catalogue of movies, TV series' and games will be given away to hospitals, libraries, schools and retirement villages.
