Over more than eight and a half years, George Worsley has organised trips around the mountain and as well as further afield, to a wide range of country music events and concerts.
It all started, says George, when a friend of his was putting together a fundraising concert in Manaia.
"He asked me if I would support it, and then I spoke to a few people who said they wanted to go as well. So I called Tranzit and asked if we could hire a bus, and that was the start of it really".
George, who works for Tranzit as a bus driver during the week, says that first outing made him realise there were plenty of people who enjoyed country music and wanted to go to concerts out of town. And so the Country Music Supporters Club was born.
"We've had plenty of fun through the years," he says, with particular highlights being trips to Te Awamutu. "Those were three-day trips. We would go up, enjoy a concert on Saturday then find another country music club to visit on the Sunday. They were great trips and we made lots of friends."
