If you go down to the library today ... or in fact any Wednesday morning during term time, you will get to enjoy a story and create a fantastic art project all before it is nap time.
Presuming you are five or under that is.
Sally Caskey, children's librarian, says the weekly Tot Time sessions are always popular with the under-fives and their parents and caregivers, with each week bringing a new book to discover and an art or craft activity to try out.
Last week, the youngsters were busy with the glue sticks, making some very lifelike foxes to go with the story they had just shared, "Keep Running Gingerbread man" by Steve Smallman.
The book tells the story of the Gingerbread Man who is so fast at running, no-one can keep up with him. No-one that is, except naughty Fox, who rather fancies a gingerbread tasting teatime treat.
The tale of how the little biscuit who is fast on his feet outsmarts Fox and leads his friends in an aerobics class is available from the library and comes with a recommendation from Elliot Whyte (apologies - spoiler ahead!) "I like it because the Gingerbread Man got away."
