Over 1000 knitted poppies are on display at the Eltham Library to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli.
Last July the Eltham RSA Women's Section decided to make two 'walls of poppies' to hang on the Servicemen's gates at the cemetery as a memorial tribute for the fallen soldiers.
Thanks to the efforts of RSA members and their families, South Taranaki Federation and other Women's Institutes, members of the public and local rural women groups there are over 1000 poppies that have been wired into wreaths that will be placed at the gates on ANZAC day.
