A confused rugby referee in the UK has earned viral infamy after sending off the wrong brother in a Pro 12 match today.
Match commentators described the mix-up as "one of the most ridiculous decisions you'll see" during the match between Welsh rivals Cardiff Blues and Scarlets at Cardiff Arms Park,
Despite wearing different jerseys and playing on opposing teams, referee Lloyd Linton struggled to tell brothers Aaron and Steven Shingler apart as he sent Scarlets flanker Aaron to sin bin after he was tackled without the ball by Cardiff first-five Steven.

It was obvious to most at the ground that Steven was the offending party and the BBC commentators blew up as soon as the penalty was given and pleaded for the referee to go to the television match official.
"I don't like to say that about referees but he has had an absolute shocker," said one of the callers.
While another commentator went a step further by declaring: "That was one of the most ridiculous decisions you'll see."
Scarlets won the match 26-15.
