Dan Carter is back and straight into sharp-shooting form.

The 34-year-old returned from a calf injury to slot six penalty goals to see Racing-Metro into the semifinals with a 21-16 victory over Toulouse in the French Top 14 'barrages' playoffs.

Joe Rokocoko (14) and Ben Tameifuna (3) also started for the Parisians, while for Toulouse the following suited up: Paul Perez (11), Luke McAlister (10), Joe Tekori (5), Census Johnston (3) and Corey Flynn (2).

Racing-Metro will travel to play Clermont in this weekend's semifinals.

Anthony Tuitavake was at centre as Montpellier beat Castres 28-9 to book a semifinal against Toulon. Castres started four Kiwis - wings Sitiveni Sivivatu and David Smith, replacement Rudi Wulf, and prop Karena Wihongi.
