Eddie Kohlhase has been signed as coach of the Black Sox until the 2013 world championships to be held in Auckland.
The Softball New Zealand Hall of Famer took over the head coaching role in 2004 after winning two world titles as assistant coach under Don Tricker.
"It is a pleasure to have Eddie back at the helm of the Black Sox," Softball NZ general manager Dane Dougan said.
Kohlhase, 45, led the team to second place at the world champs in Canada this year, succumbing 5-0 to Australia in the finals.
