All Blacks coach Steven Hansen named his first squad this morning since taking over Sir Graham Henry in the top job.

Hansen's 35-man training squad ahead of the Ireland series next month has many talking points.

There are 11 new names in the squad including Sam Cane, Brad Shields, Tawera Kerr-Barlow and Ben Tameifuna.

While 2011 All Blacks Zac Guildford, Hosea Gear, Jimmy Cowan, Jarrad Hoeata and Corey Flynn are missing from the squad.

Have Blues' trio Ali Williams, Ma'a Nonu and Piri Weepu earned their spots after a disapointing Super 15 season to date.

What are your thoughts on the squad? Has Hansen got the right mix of youth and experience?
