All Black history is not only made up of victories and great moments with a few dark passages in the past.

Props fall from grace
There are a range of versions of what happened at a late hour in Cardiff in 1972. To get to the nub of the matter, Keith Murdoch, an immensely powerful prop forward and a man possessed of a short fuse, punched a security guard and was dispatched into rugby ignominy.

Meads sent off
With a comfortable 14-3 victory over Scotland in the bag in 1967 a spur of the moment act resulted in Colin Meads being sent off for dangerous play, just the second All Black to be dismissed in a test at the time.
