Warriors players Sam Tomkins and Shaun Johnson

The New Zealand Warriors have triumphed over the Penrith Panthers 18-4 during their pre-season match in Rotorua.

The two NRL sides met at the Rotorua International Stadium today in front of more than 9500 fans.

The Warriors were very good on defence during the match and will take confidence from their performance.

Both teams put out strong sides for the match with most of their first team players featuring in the game.
