Taupo Combined Schools have won the Baywide secondary schools division two title.
Combined took out the title without a ball bowled at the weekend after Bethlehem College elected not to travel to the Great Lake region. Taupo received the competition points and finished top of the ladder.
Tauranga Boys' College Wanderers finished second when they beat Rotorua Combined Schools.
Tauranga Boys' batted first and posted 179-9, Finn Sears top-scoring with an unbeaten 44. Sean Cross took three wickets for the Rotorua team.
With four wickets from Rhys Mischewski, Tauranga Boys' removed their opponents for 115 to claim second place in the first-past-the-post competition.
In division one, Aquinas College came back from a six-point deficit to Bethlehem College to win the title.
Entering the last round, the scenario was that if Bethlehem defeated Aquinas they would win the first XI trophy.
Meanwhile, Aquinas needed to beat their archrivals to finish on equal points and claim the title by way of who beat who in the round robin.
Aquinas batted first and posted 215-4. Bethlehem lost early wickets and were restricted to 141-9.
John Paul College beat Tauranga Boys' College to finish third in division one.
