Fine weather is set to grace Rotorua on Friday for the 21st annual Carols by Candlelight.
The Rotorua East Lions Club is presenting the event again in conjunction with major sponsors, Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust, NZME and Andy's Marquee and Party Hire.
"It's much the same format as years before, but we have some different entertainers, they're all local of course," Dave Elliot from Rotorua East Lions said.
The night of festive music and fun will kick off at 7pm under the trees in Kuirau Park.
The Hits 97.5 local host Paul Hickey will front the entertainment.
The programme will feature soloist and choir conductor Elisha Hulton, the Rotorua Symphonic Band, the Malfroy Primary School Choir, and the Te Ao Intermediate Choir, the Amjazz Dance Studio dancers, and children's entertainment provided by the Go Bananas song and dance group.
By 8.50pm all candles will be alight and the show will end around 9.15pm.
Elliot said he and the Lions were excited about the event.
"It's always an enjoyable evening especially when you have fine weather."
If the weather is fine, between 1000 and 2000 people are expected.
Attendees should bring their own rugs and warm clothing.
The Lions Club will be selling candles and holders for a gold coin, with the proceeds going to a local charity, or people can bring their own.
The event will only be cancelled if the weather is wet, and, if necessary cancellation notices will be announced during the day at www.rotoruadailypost.co.nz and The Hits Rotorua 97.5.
