The BayTrust rescue helicopter was dispatched to Minginui at 8.30pm on Saturday night after a 64-year-old woman suffered a medical condition that needed urgent hospital care.
She was treated at the scene by a St John paramedic before being flown to Rotorua Hospital in a comfortable condition.
The helicopter was sent due to damage caused to roads by recent weather events.
