The artists just keep coming for Taupo's legendary Summer Concert and next year's line-up promises to continue the excitement.

Greenstone Entertainment Ltd, which presents the Taupo Summer Concert, along with shows in Queenstown and Whitianga, has announced its artist line-up for next year's summer concert, to be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, which is also Auckland Anniversary Weekend.

The concert will feature Australian rock legends Icehouse, the multi-talented Alan Parsons Live Project and the unmistakable voice of Bonnie Tyler, a trio of musical acts with a huge range of hits behind them.

Last year's concert tour attracted about 40,000 people across the three venues, who flocked to see Huey Lewis and the News, REO Speedwagon and Melissa Etheridge.

This is the summer concert's sixth year and other line-ups have included Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Foreigner, Heart, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 10cc and The Doobie Brothers.

Held at the Taupo Ampitheatre at Riverside Park with its backdrop of the Waikato River and unchanged ticket pricing, organisers are promising concert goers won't be disappointed with the 2017 line-up.

Icehouse was formed by Iva Davies, the front man and musical creative force, who has led the band to 28 platinum albums. Albums such as Primitive Man, Icehouse and Flowers have spent 233 weeks in the New Zealand album charts, with hit songs including Can't Help Myself, We Can Get Together, Hey Little Girl, Electric Blue, and Great Southern Land having had 140 weeks in the New Zealand singles charts.

Alan's current live band consists of Alan on acoustic guitar, keyboards and vocals, PJ Olsson on vocals, Manny Foccarazzo on keyboards, Guy Erez on bass, Alastair Greene on guitar, Danny Thompson on drums, and Todd Cooper on sax, percussion and vocals.

Albums such as I Robot, Eye In The Sky and Pyramid have spent 196 weeks in the New Zealand album charts, which have included songs such as Eye In The Sky, Games People Play, Damned If I Do, I Robot, Don't Answer Me, I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You and Sirius.

International first lady of rock Bonnie Tyler's career spans four decades, with a voice instantly identifiable the world over.

Bonnie's hit songs include the unmistakable Total Eclipse Of The Heart, It's A Heartache and Holding Out For A Hero.

Greenstone Entertainment chief executive Amanda Calvert said she was excited to announce the 2017 Taupo Summer Concert line-up.

Tickets go on sale on Monday, July 11.

Tickets are $99 plus booking fee through Ticketek.
