The trial of five Kaingaroa Forest men has been aborted - for a second time.
In the Rotorua District Court on Monday Hati Thompson, 25, Evo Hunt, 23, Phillip Hepi 20, Edward Delamere, 23 and Harry Thompson, 28, pleaded not guilty to intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to Miki Reihana in a fight between Tribesmen and Black Power gang factions in Kaingaroa Village on September 13, 2013.
Hunt and Hepi also denied injuring Broughton Poutawa with intent to injure him in the same confrontation.
However Judge James Weir called the trial off today and remanded the accused for a new trial date to be set at a callover hearing on April 28.
He had earlier excused one juror from taking further part in the trial which had been set down for three weeks.
