A final decision on the staff restructure of Maori Television will be announced on Monday.
A proposal has been announced by the chief executive Paora Maxwell (Ngati Rangiwewehi) following a review of the station's organisational structure to assess its capability as a broadcaster operating within a fast-changing multiplatform broadcast environment.
It's been reported high-profile Maori Television executives Julian Wilcox and Carol Hirschfeld have been demoted.
Mr Maxwell said the proposed structure was designed to ensure alignment of operations to business strategy for increased performance and results. He said it reflected the values of Maori Television and was intended to increase strategic capability, foster efficiency of resources, encourage internal collaboration and workflow, foster staff success and promote the organisation's commitment to te reo Maori me nga tikanga.
"This proposal provides a stronger strategic alignment to a forward-thinking business model that is audience focused," Mr Maxwell said.
