Ngongotaha churches will soon be celebrating 10 years of bringing the community together through the Procession of Witness.
This Good Friday will mark 10 years since Ngongotaha's St Barnabas Anglican Church, Oasis Church and Trinity Presbyterian Church first held the Procession of Witness, where between 80 to 100 people walk through the village carrying a cross alongside musicians playing Easter hymns.
The ceremony has been held every year on Good Friday since 2004.
St Barnabas Anglican Church's minister Ann Crawford said the procession was a way to bring the churches and community together.
"We love being able to work with the churches and come together for the procession, we all have the same message and we love being able to share that with the community," she said.
