The Ngakuru community is rallying around one of their own families with a social community fundraiser for a family facing tough times.
The Community Fundraiser for Team Meads event is taking place next month to raise money and support for Tracey and Jarod Meads and their family after one of their three boys, 18-month-old Frank, was diagnosed with leukaemia.
The event, on April 5, will include a charity auction, supper and band playing.
Entry is free, but supper is a gold-coin donation and there'll be plenty of auction items to bid on with more than 50 items donated so far.
Organiser Suzie Evans said there was also a couple of ladies who were considering shaving their heads as part of the event.
