How much would you pay for a packet of expired, broken, melted and partially eaten biscuits?
One Rotorua resident recently sold a packet of old sampler biscuits, more than six months past their expiry date, for a staggering $554 on the website Trade Me.
The biscuits, listed as the Worst Christmas Present Ever?, were advertised by seller Noel, who had given up such tasty treats for almost an entire year before he received them as a Christmas gift.
"So on Christmas morning I thought that I would reward myself with a nice cup of tea and satisfy that sweet-tooth craving that has been gnawing away at me for the last 11 months, with a biscuit (or 12)," Noel wrote on the site.
But he said he was disappointed to find the biscuits were stale, although that did not stop him from eating half of one.
