Climate scientists are predicting a warm build-up to summer in Rotorua, with a strong possibility of above average temperatures forecast for the city.
The forecast for the next three months in Rotorua looks positive according to the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Science (Niwa) seasonal climate outlook.
Niwa reported there was a 45 per cent chance of temperatures being above average during the next three months, a relatively high possibility for the area.
Niwa also reported there was a 45 per cent chance of temperatures being average or near average and only 10 per cent chance of temperatures being below average.
Rotorua boasted its warmest August on record earlier this year, with warm weather likely to continue into the last quarter of the year.
