One of the UK's most respected psychic mediums will soon be bringing messages from the after-life to Rotorua.
Tony Stockwell, who has appeared on television shows including Psychic Private Eyes, will hold a show for 350 people at the Rotorua Convention Centre's Concert Chamber on November 22.
The show is part of an 11-centre New Zealand tour, his first visit to the country since his successful 2005 tour with fellow medium Colin Fry.
Robyn Alexander of promoters Pacific Entertainment said Stockwell was familiar to Kiwis through his many TV appearances. She said he had an endearing way about him and his shows were always entertaining, intriguing and often emotional.
"He is well known for having extremely accurate things come through, very specific information that is not in the public arena," she said.
"He touches people in a very intimate and emotional way and others can't help but get caught up."
She said his shows were a fascinating experience that sought to shed some light on the eternal question of what happened after death.
"For those that have a belief in the afterlife or even a possible interest it's total intrigue," she said. "Those that don't believe, if they go with an open mind sometimes they change their mind."
Ms Alexander said the shows were interactive and anything could happen as Stockwell received messages for random audience members.
"It's very difficult to describe what's going to happen in the show, it all happens on the night."
In his 23-year career Stockwell has toured extensively, lectured at some of the most respected schools for mediumistic development and established his own training school for developing mediums, The Avalon Project. He has also written four books.
Ms Alexander said Stockwell was going for a more intimate experience with his audience this tour by playing smaller venues such as the concert chamber.
Tickets for the Rotorua show are available now from Ticketmaster for $69.90 plus booking fee.
