Rotorua's Tim Worrall knows which local group will perform at the Rugby World Cup opening ceremony - but he's been sworn to secrecy.
Mr Worrall isn't allowed to disclose anything about the ceremony at Eden Park on September 9 but says being involved has been the experience of a lifetime.
He is a creative consultant to international events company David Atkins Enterprises (DAE), which is responsible for the opening ceremony. The Australian-based company was also in charge of the ceremonies at the Sydney Olympics and last year's Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.
He told The Daily Post it had been interesting helping to put together a 20-minute performance expected to be viewed by more than 1 billion people.
The ceremony needed to portray several aspects: "It's obviously rugby, but also the national identity, aspirations and [it] includes elements to do with the participating countries - and it's got to be entertaining."
As a filmmaker he said he had enjoyed learning a new creative process. "The creative team had been told to think of the opening ceremony as a "visual poem", he said.
"It's a collage linking visual and aural images and takes the audience on a journey with an emotional and entertainment thread rather than a hard and fast story."
