Family members have found missing Northland man 77-year-old Colin Browne this morning in steep bush about a kilometre from his home.
Mr Browne, who suffers from Alzheimer's, was reported missing about 3pm yesterday and Whangarei police appealed for help to find him on their facebook page.
Family members searching bush near Mangahui Rd, on the way to Pataua North, found Mr Browne safe and well about 9.30am today.
He was clad in only a light shirt and shorts and had no shoes and fortunately it was a warm and muggy night.
LandSAR volunteers and police were about to launch into a full scale search when Mr Browne was found.
