A Labour voter tricked National MP Paula Bennett into posing for a selfie before getting her next to him on camera as he told people to vote for Labour.
Josh Owens, from Kaitangata, ran into Bennett out on the campaign trail and called her to join him as he filmed with his cell phone.
The National MP, likely assuming this would be just another selfie, joined Owens and smiled at the screen.
"You know you and your boy Bill are going down, eh?" he asked while filming them.
Bennett, to her credit, handled it all with a smile.
"No way! No way, sunshine," she replied.
"You're going down sis, you're going down. Let's do this, Paula, let's do this," Owen added, alluding to Labour's campaign slogan. "Vote Labour!"
Owens posted the video to his Facebook account on Friday with an appeal for people to vote: "Don't be lazy, get out and vote #KAIRULZ #letsdothis".
The video has since been viewed more than 126,000 times.
