The driver of a ute had to be cut free after a collision involving two logging trucks including one with a full load.
Inspector Wayne Ewers, Northland road policing manager, said the three vehicle collision happened about 1.30pm todayat the intersection of State Highway 14 and Whatitiri Rd, Maungatapere.
Mr Ewers said a double cab ute had indicated to turn right into Whatitiri Rd and stopped to give way to a fully laden logging truck travelling in the opposite direction.
It's believed the ute was clipped from behind and then spun into the path of the oncoming loaded logging truck.
Mr Ewers said the ute was pushed 50 to 60 metres up the highway.
