Police have swooped on a property in Stratford, Taranaki, believed to have a methamphetamine lab operating from a car.

Armed police are guarding a property on the corner of Syliva and Rosalind streets, after the discovery of the potential drug lab in a car, a police spokeswoman said.

Several cars are parked on the large corner section.

Armed police are keeping the scene secure before the national Clandestine Laboratory Team and crime squad arrives later today.
