A teenager needed hospital treatment after a wakeboarding accident at a popular Northland camping site.
Campsite manager Andrew Howells said the 16-year-old boy was wakeboarding on Friday with his parents when he came off and landed on his neck and shoulder in the water.
"He came off on the wrong angle.
"He was in a bit of pain and had a lack of feeling down one side. Because he hurt his neck we didn't want to take any risks so rang the ambulance."
Mr Howells said the teen had undergone a CT scan.
The boy and his family are regulars at the campground and had stayed for at least a week before the incident.
