A Powerball player has won $5 million in tonight's Lotto draw.
The big win comes only days after a young Auckland woman won $10 million in Saturday's draw.
Tonight's winning Powerball ticket was sold online to a MyLotto player from Wellington.
The total prize was made up of $4 million from Powerball First Division and $1 million from Lotto First Division.
Lotto is advising anyone who bought their ticket online to check it immediately at MyLotto.co.nz.
Strike Four rolled over tonight and will be worth $200,000 on Saturday.
Tonight's win is the second Powerball jackpot in a row to be won, and the second win in a row to be purchased online.
Saturday's winner, who wished to remain anonymous, thought she'd won $10,000 - only to learn she'd won the $10 million jackpot.
She was visiting her parents last weekend and was in bed when she realised.
"I just stood there shaking in my nightie holding my phone towards them and said, 'Guys - I've won $10,000!' I was beside myself.
"Dad was pretty sceptical so grabbed my phone to double check what I was seeing - that's when he said, 'Honey, that says $10 million, not $10,000'."
The trio were "absolutely stunned".
The woman decided to buy a ticket as the proceeds were going to quake-ravaged Kaikoura.
She planned to use some of the money to reunite her family for the first time in more than a decade. She would also give $1 million to her siblings, who have lived overseas for years.
