4.4 aftershock rattles central New Zealand

Central New Zealand has been shaken by a magnitude 4.4 aftershock.

The 20km-deep quake struck 25km southeast of Seddon at 9.33am.

GeoNet said the quake was moderate.

More than 160 people have reported feeling the quake so far.

One Twitter user described it as a "wee shake".


Hundreds of aftershocks have been felt since a deadly magnitude 7.8 quake struck near Kaikoura almost two weeks ago.
