Boy injured in Hawke's Bay after mountain bike tumble

A 14-year-old Hawke's Bay boy has been airlifted to hospital after falling off his mountain bike.

A Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust spokesman said the boy, from Taradale, was riding in the Pac Pac mountain bike park near Whirinaki Mill today, when he fell of his bike.

The boy suffered a serious shoulder injury and was airlifted by the chopper to the Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldier's Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
