SH1 reopens after serious motorbike crash

SH1 north of Huntly has reopened after a motorcycle crash which left a man with life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred near Fisher Rd, just north of Huntly about 2pm. The motorcyclist was critically injured in the crash.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The injured man was airlifted to Waikato Hospital.

SH1 was closed after the crash with south-bound traffic being diverted down Tahuna Rd and north-bound down Ohinewai South Rd.

Police confirmed shortly after 6pm that the diversions that were in place had been lifted.
