More than a thousand Auckland homes in the dark due to electricity network fault

A number of Auckland homes are without power this evening due to a number of faults on the electricity network.

In Freeman's Bay 1136 households were reported to be without power from 9pm, as a result of a fault on Vector's lines.

The company's outages page indicated the power would be switched back on around 11pm.

In Point Chevalier, Greenlane, Sylvia Park and Botany Downs, all had around 30 houses each without power, as a result of a number of faults on the network.

All were expected to be switched back on between 11pm and midnight tonight.
