Opposition leader Andrew Little has been at the hospital bedside of his 93-year-old mum, Cicely Little, after she suffered a health scare on Budget day.
Mr Little's twin sister Val Little posted a photo on Facebook today showing the Labour leader visiting Mrs Little at her Taranaki Base Hospital hospital bed. Ms Little and another sister, Jennifer, are also in the photo.
His mum was admitted on Thursday and would remain in hospital until next week, but was doing well, Mr Little told the Herald this evening.
"She's been chatting away and is her usual self. She's in good spirits, she just had a bit of a health scare but she's been checked out."
Mr Little was in Parliament on Thursday for the Budget, and did not find out about his mum's health scare until later in the day, he said.
